En este artículo veremos there + to be en construcciones con algunos verbos que suelen acompañar a esta estructura, como: there seem(s) to be (parece haber), there have/has to be (tiene que haber) y there used to be (solía haber).
La teoría
To seem y to have tienen que concordar con el sujeto. Por ejemplo:
- There seem to be more people.
- There has to be someone!
Las estructuras para parece haber, tiene que haber y solía haber tienen en común que necesitan un verbo auxiliar tanto en las preguntas como en las oraciones negativas:
- There didn’t use to be so much pollution.
- Does there have to be a king?
- There don’t seem to be many more.
La práctica
Céntrate en distinguir bien el sonido /dzee/ de there y de la "d" fuerte en do, does y did, que son /du/, /dáas/ y /did/, respectivamente.

Extra
Error común
Practica bien para no decir cosas como There seem to be a problem. Los verbos to seem y to have, cuando aparecen con there + to be, tienen que concordar con el sujeto. Por lo tanto, tendrías que decir There seems to be a problem.
Clave de pronunciación
Marca bien la diferencia entre la d de does, /dáas/ y el sonido /dzee/ de there. A veces los estudiantes confunden estos sonidos cuando van juntos. Does there seem to be sería /dáasdzeesíimtubi/.
Consejo clave
Hasta adquirir más agilidad, párate a pensar cuál es el sujeto de la frase y haz que el verbo concuerde con él. Por ejemplo, There has to be one y There have to be two.
